Camphill Philosophy and History

The Plan In Colorado

Providing Comprehensive Services

Community Connections

Camphill in Colorado Will Be Built in Larimer County
Rural beauty, urban accessibility, flexible zoning and a supportive Community Center Board make Larimer County the right choice for building Camphill in Colorado. CLCI is currently leasing two homes on a 21 acre property in Loveland, CO.
This is an ideal property that is zoned agricultural, and has plenty of room for expansion. The property is near a city bus route and is within walking distance of a retirement village, so we can have lots of interaction with the elderly. These beautiful acres are situated on a hill overlooking Loveland to the north, with views of the mountains to the west, and the prairie to the east. Three ponds and a bird sanctuary rest at the bottom of the hill. The property has no through roads, so we are right in the middle of things in Loveland, and yet we have privacy and safety because the road stops at this property.
Our first life-sharing home, Cottonwood House, opened January 2007 with householders David and Debbie Leighton who have over 30 years of Camphill experience. Peachtree House , currently offers respite care with householders Beth Corymb, who has 23 years of Camphill community living, and Merlin Brockett, with 26 years of Camphill experience. We are happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for two life-sharing community members with special needs. Please contact us if you are interested in respite care or applying for long-term life-sharing community living. As always, we welcome input from families and people with special needs as we begin developing our programming.

If you would like to help us purchase property, or contribute to the operating needs of our programming, please contact us.

Arcadea Offers Conceptual Site Plan
Arcadea, an award-winning architecture design firm in Boulder, Colorado, generously offered their services to help conceptualize CLCI's vision of what our life-sharing community might look like in the future as we grow. The result is a beautiful and inspiring concept site plan. Their expertise is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Arcadea!

CLCI Receives Sustainable Culture Mini-Grant
The Solstice Institute, promoting cooperative and sustainable culture, has awarded CLCI a sustainable culture mini-grant for our community gardening project. Through this grant we have presented a workshop focusing on open-pollinated seeds, which featured planting biodynamic carrot roots, a bienniel plant, to grow seed for propagation. We also conducted two gardening classes this spring which included individuals with special needs and local citizens.
Thank you Solstice Institute!

Color Light Therapy
Specialists Manfred and Ingelore Maier from Beaver Run Camphill & eurythmists Glenda and David-Michael Monasch joined musicians Katherine Lyles and Beth Corymb to introduce this unique therapy in CO. Using sunlight and eurythmy in a specially arranged space allows color to flow around the movements while accompanied by lyre music. Thanks to all who made Color Light Therapy possible!

Thank you CSU Ram Serve Volunteers!

Web Site Team Provides an Online Home
Active members of Bringing Camphill to Colorado Lydia Nibley and Russell Martin contributed their creative vision and words to this web site. Rosemary Admiral built the site from the Dominican Republic where she was working in the Peace Corps. The exquisite photos of the Colorado landscape were contributed by professional photographer and Camphill supporter Jesse Speer , and the beautiful photos of Camphill life and agriculture were supplied by Jean-David Derreumaux who, with his wife Karen, are long-time Camphill Co-workers. Thanks to this great team for telling our story so well!
