Colorado Life-sharing Community Initiative
The breadth of support for building Camphill in Colorado can be traced directly to the vision of the founders of the nonprofit organization the Colorado Life-sharing Community Initiative (CLCI) which began this effort in 1999. It was inspired by their dream, as parents of children with special needs, to create an authentic community where their adult sons and daughters could live safe, meaningful, and joy filled lives surrounded by friendship and a sense of extended family. These parents found the answer in the Camphill Movement and have worked very hard to develop an organization that is now ready to break ground and put down roots.

The founding directors of the CLCI Board represented each Core Member Family and included Director David Leighton, who brought 27 years of experience within Camphill communities to give the founding group a wealth of knowledge and experience and the other founding directors: Mike Green, CLCI President, Sarah Bennett, Secretary, Art Rolander, Treasurer, Dermott O' Flanagan, Board Chair, and Ana Mettler, Tom Buell, Marilyn Green, Deb Douglas, Steve Miller, and Ellie Linke. All of them brought idealism, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to transform their dream of what could be into a vibrant Camphill community.
