The Bringing Camphill to Colorado effort Is Welcomed With Open Arms
The welcome mat in Larimer County came out early, and although the
new life-sharing neighbors aren't operating the bakery that can deliver
fresh-baked bread just yet, the relationship between The Bringing
Camphill to Colorado effort and the larger community is well under
way. Larimer County officials have been very supportive, and the CLCI
community already feels an integral part of things.
CLCI companions and co-workers will make great use of libraries, parks,
open lands, swimming pools and trails and will participate in local
art and cultural activities and Special Olympics events. And even
as they enjoy services and programs that are provided for their use,
members of the CLCI community will also contribute regular volunteer
support to local food banks, nursing homes, the humane society and
hospice as they take part in every aspect of community life with a
capital "C," meaning that the connections between CLCI life-sharing
homes and the surrounding towns are strong and run in both directions.
It is very important that people have the largest and most inclusive
experience possible, and this means working, recreating and serving
in the surrounding areas. |

We wish for our children lives of integrity and joy, in a
community where their individual special needs, health, personal
safety and spiritual well-being will be understood and well cared
for, and that they will experience true companionship and be guided
to develop their full potential as they contribute to their community
and society at large.
